Shuttle bus services run to and from the Larnaca and Pafos International Airports by K apnos company. At Larnaca airport the bus is reachable at the basement when arriving (exit left) and it is leaving at 2.00 am and 4h45 am and then from 8h45 until 23h55 hourly. The travel from Larnaca to Nicosia (and vice versa) is about 40 minutes long and the ticket costs 9€ each way (for further information, you may visit: http://www.kapnosairportshuttle.com).
The travel from Pafos to Nicosia is about 1h40 and costs 16€ each way. The shuttle is reachable after the main entrance of the airport. The shuttle bus will transfer passengers to the central Kapnos bus station in Nicosia; participants will then have to take a taxi or bus to transfer to their accommodation site at a price of 6-12€ depending on their destination within the city. Booking a taxi from and to the airports of Larnaca or Pafos might be quite expensive unless you plan to share with other travelers. Taxi can be booked on arrival and/or on departure. Prices for taxis range depending on destination but you need to book your taxi beforehand to go to the airport.
Indicatively, the lowest price for a single ride from Larnaca Airport to Nicosia and vice versa is around €40-€50 each way and can raise to €80 after 11h00. The price from Pafos airport to Nicosia is 120€ during the day and 150€ after 11h00.Public Passport Cyprus
Public Transport
(Mini) Bus transport is the only public transport in the cities in Cyprus. Tickets may be purchased on the bus. One-way tickets cost €2.00 and night tickets €3.50. To get around you can also book a taxi. Charging is always estimated by a taximeter. The initial charge is € 3.42 (06:01 pm-20:30 am) and €4.36 (20:31 am-06:00 pm). The fare per kilometer is €0.73 and €0.85 respectively. Taxis are call-in services therefore you might not be able to find a taxi on the street. When calling a taxi, you also need to take into consideration the time it will need to come and pick you up. Intercity buses also exist between cities.
Wearing a mask in the public transports is compulsory as from July 8th 2022 and strongly recommended in taxis.
Sanitary situation on the 8th of July 2022
The obligation of travellers arriving in the Republic of Cyprus from any country, to fill in the passenger locator form, to present a valid certificate of vaccination or recovery or a negative result from a PCR or antigen rapid test have now been lifted and there is no vaccination/ test control any more.
However, because of a recent rise of positive cases with COVID19, wearing the mask is now compulsory again for all persons over 12 years old when in closed spaces, including pharmacies, hospitals and public transport.
